![]() It's a little more expensive but it's known to work well with the Virb and my car.Īnd thanks to you guys, I know to order up the 10pin OBD adapter as well. Can't wait to see some data from the bike and car. It was definitely cool to get some physical data to overlay on the video. I plan to use the engine guard mounting position on the bike, like I did with my previous camera. With the date, GPS, speed and other data on display, what else would a judge need to see. I would post some video but it might get me in trouble. I did use the zoom feature to get the best view from that position. The view of the road is slightly restricted, but you can see the entire dash and steering wheel as well. To see how the data looks go to this video of me riding with Peter Sagan and the Bora Hansgrohe Team click here. I mounted the Virb to the passenger headrest post and positioned it near the center of the car. So far, I've just taken one test run through the twisties in the car. ![]() I just picked up the Garmin Virb Ultra 30 for use on the bike and the car. Nothin' like finding a thread that will help a brother out. i won't add the gauges for all video I take, but its nice to drop these gauges into a video in selected places, there are other gauges for elevation, spin, drops and a pile of other stuff so if you ride your bike off a mountain your descendants can find out how far you fell, what speed you were at, how many times the bike spun in the air and see the big red "Brake" blob when everything came to a sudden stop. In the attached video, I have fiddled with the speed gauge to remove the calibration settings, and put the Roll gauge in the middle of it.ħ. Using Virb Edit you can mess around with gauges, create your own ones and save templates to use for future video. Upload your video using Virb Edit and play with the new data from your ELM327.Ħ. Take a spin on the bike and record video on your Virb (did I mention this is an excellent Birthday/Anniversary/Christmas pressie, even if its to yourself).ĥ. Plug in the ELM327 and connect it to the Virb.Ĥ. locate the OBDII plug on the K16, on the 2017 bikes its a "D" connector on earlier bikes its a round one and you need an adapter.ģ. The one in the photo cost £10, its Bluetooth and works perfectly.Ģ. It didn't work, they sent me a wireless one and I think the Virb likes Bluetooth. Buy an EM元27 on the Internet, the first one I purchased cost £20 and had a sleep function. The purpose of this thread is to explain what happens when you plug an ELM327 into the diagnostic plug (ODB II) of a K16 and then connect a Garmin Virb.ġ. There is plenty of info on the Internet to explain the above codes and that is the best place to get the details.
